Last week I posted (here) about the Party in the Park that I attended but I didn't go into details about my outift, so here they are.

The Teri Jon dress is a perfect example of how great it is to have a friend who works at Neiman Marcus. She spotted the dress and knew I would like it. So on a visit in to see her, she had it pulled for me in my size. It was perfect for this fun event but it's also the perfect work dress so I'll get a ton of wear out of it.

Skin Care Routine

I've been asked numerous times to do a post on my skincare routine so here it finally is. I'm loathe to admit it, but I'm 43 years old and am thankful that with a combination of good genes and a pretty good skincare routine, my skin is in pretty good shape.

My skin is dry, a bit sensitive and is prone to redness in the cheeks and on the chin. I wash each morning with Chantecaile geranium rice foaming cleanser which I like because it has a very gentle exfoliant which can be used daily even with my sensitive skin. It's a pretty small tube of cleanser but a very small amount (less than a fingerip) goes a long way. Then I use La Mer's moisturizing soft cream and my skin has never felt better. I've been told it is just as effective as the Original Creme de la Mer but for me, the soft cream is easier to work onto your skin. To keep the wrinkles at bay in the eye area, I use La Mer's Eye Concentrate. The finishing touch is sun protection which I get from CosMedix Reflect SPF 30 Natural which is all natural and has no chemicals.

Easy Weekend

Last Saturday I had an easy day. After getting a facial and hitting the gym, I got dressed to run around (dropped a bundle off at Second Time Around for consignment, popped into Ted Baker, sat in Copley Square to read and soak up the beautiful day). This M Missoni skirt is so easy to wear and I love how I'm comfortable to run around but still look chic.

Speaking of Ted Baker, that was my first time in the shop. The clothes were girly, flowery and fun. The sizing is a bit odd. The sizes run from size 1 to size 4. I was told the 4 was the largest and was the equivalent of a size 10. I tried on a size 4 short which was still a wee tight for me even though I can usually wear a 10 on the bottom. I am a size or two bigger on top so was surprised that some of the tops actually did fit me. I bought the Pareen pleated top in black which I think I'll get a ton of wear out of.

Fit & Flare

I know I sound like a broken record, but this time of year just makes me so happy. I wore this to brunch with Lani at Mistral on Sunday and it's so refreshing to be able to get dressed without having to wear even a light jacket.

Speaking of Mistral, if you live in Boston, you must go for brunch (and dinner for that matter). Lani and I both got the English pea, morel and ricotta omelette. It was utterly decadent and worth every calorie. Check out my instragram to see the delish goodness (and Lani's instagram for the beignets we had).

I'll also admit that Mistral was my kitchen away from home this weekend as I was bellied up to the bar with Elisha Friday night as well. We shared the mashed potato tenderloin pizza which we get every time we go. Before I tasted it for the first time, I thought it sounded like an odd combo but it is irresistable.

Outfit details: St. John dress, Chanel necklace, Manolo Blahnik shoes, Saint Laurent clutch

And finally on to what I wore which was the pinkest of pink dresses by St. John. Oh, how I love this bright color! The dress is form fitting so I struggled to hide my mid-section with some Spanx shapewear but the contraption was a little difficult to figure out. Do you have any favorite shapewear recommendations? If so, please leave me a comment as I'm in the market for something that hides the bulge from under the bra to the belly but doesn't roll down the back and leave unsightly bulges.
