This or That?

January 30, 2013 at 7:00AM | Filed in Shopping In my weekend perusing what's new at all of my favorite online shopping haunts, I noticed a lace trimmed dress from David Meister. I thought to myself that it looks an awful lot like a dress Michael Kors had in his fall line this past year. I went searching for a picture of that and instead, happened upon a similar Valentino version. These dresses look quite a lot like each other. Up close, I'm sure there are intricacies in the tailoring and craftmanship, but from afar you get the same look if that's what you're after.

Wow, so similar. The lace detailing is much more flattering on the Valentino -- but $2k more flattering? Both are gorgeous!
Good eye! I would have never noticed the difference. I think all designers copy each other .. I do like the Valentino dress, the lace defines the waist better than the Meister dress.

You can always find a knock off that is pretty interchangable, but side by side (to me) the valentino is just so much finer, it almost calls attention to the flaws of the copy. good eye though :)

I have to say, I like the Valentino better, just because the lace panel isn't so large. I do, however, like the lower price of the other dress! LOL!
