Outfit details: Neiman Marcus cashmere sweater, J Crew skirt, Wolford velvet deluxe tights in admiral, Jimmy Choo booties, Stella McCartney bag. J Crew necklace (similar here)

I often have trouble deciding what shoes and bags to wear with navy.  It's easier when it's warm out and no tights are needed.  I can go with nude or a pop of color (like I did here). But when one has to wear tights it's always a dilemma to me deciding what color tights and shoes to wear.  Here I ended up wearing navy tights and black booties.  I could have gone with black tights as well but I ended up liking how this looked.

Navy & black is one of my fav combos! How is the material on Stella McCartney bags? I've never seen one in real life and have always been curious. Does it feel like leather?

Hi Bettina,
I really like the feel of this bag. Mine is more of a faux suede than leather but it feels super soft. I got mine a couple of years ago on sale at Bloomies plus friends and family so it was a steal. But I use it quite a lot so I think would have been worth it even at full price.

I was in two minds about a Black and Navy jacket that I just ordered online, but your outfit has removed all doubt about it, very chic!

I actually wore navy and black today as well. I had on a gray pair of pants, a navy top and was at a loss for what to wear for warmth (why are offices so cold!) .. so threw on a black jacket.
