J Crew Cafe Capris Save the Day

Outfit details: Ann Taylor top, J Crew cafe capris, Valentino shoes (I'm coveting these studded booties for fall), Celine bag, Hermés scarf and collier de chien bracelet
Some days getting dressed is all about an easy outfit. When I decided to wear this tan and orange top, I thought it would pair nicely with so many things. Instead, when I tried it on, it didn't look right with anything. The tan of the skirt I was going to wear wasn't right and I couldn't wear jeans to work on this particular day. My J Crew cafe capri trousers in white saved the day again. I have these trousers in wool from last fall in several colors and the recent J Crew sales enabled me to get a few summer pairs. I buy the long length that's available online because I like them to hit right at the ankle.

I hate when I have an outfit planned and it looks good laying on the bed together, but it just doesn't work when I put it on. Then I could go through several items trying to make it work. I've been wearing my tan capri's a lot this summer because they go with nearly everything and are so comfortable. The length of yours, hitting near the ankle, is my favorite. That bright orange sure make the outfit pop. Looks great.
If you told me tan white and orange together in an outfit Lissy I would have pulled a face. Seeing this on though, looks perfectly put together. I'm starting to embrace a few of Gap's cropped pants this summer, a length I never used to like but I'm warming to. Lovely look!
