Weekend Tidbits - Fort Lauderdale

As a big chunk of the Northeast is still trying to come out from under the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, I was lucky enough to be basking in the warm glow of the Florida sun.  As I flew into Fort Lauderdale on Friday night, the telethon to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy moved me to tears. Arriving to stay in the beautiful condo of one of my friends with views of the ocean and the intracoastal made me feel a little guilty.  Here I was enjoying a fun weekend away while so many others are suffering. It did however also make me appreciate all the good things in my life including mother nature's beauty.

beautiful images...hopeful...
My town and those sorrounding were devastated by the storm...many have no homes...we are LUCKY to have a house standing and just trees down...but still no power for a week now....staying with my parents who do...but yearning to get back home and get back to some sort of "normal"
Thanks for thinking of all us back home:)

Awww. I wish I knew you were coming to FL. Would have loved to have met you. I still own my house in CT so I was feeling the same way with hearing about Sandy. People down here couldn't understand why I was streaming live coverage of nbcconnecticut.com during the storm. And now with the nor'easter coming...
