Heart on my Sleeve

Daily Outfit

Well, I'm wearing my heart on my sleeve both literally and figuratively today. I went into the Thanksgiving weekend looking forward to time in NYC with my sister and brother in law. Sadly, my aunt who had been suffering from ALS passed away on the Wednesday night before the holiday. With the grief and mourning, I've been uninspired and worrying about what I'm wearing seemed trivial. But the more I think about my aunt, her verve for life until the very end and how much she appreciated seeing her loved ones enjoying and living their lives, the more I realize that it's OK to still enjoy what makes me happy, trivial or not.

Alyssa I am so sorry to hear about your aunt! Know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. If you should ever want to do an ALS fundraiser in her name, please let me know - I would love to help.
Sorry your aunt passed away. Not fun. I think she would be pleased you mentioned her on your blog. Just think of tit this way if the only thing you need to worry about in the morning is what to wear then life is good!
My condolences to you and for taking the time to post for your readers.
Sending you and your family lots of positive thoughts and prayers.
I find myself remember my dad's last words very often (and sharing them with folks that need to hear them), " Know that I am always watching and you may hurt, cry and fall but as long as your doing what makes you happy I'll be happy too".
A little personal there but your post reminded me of his words (he passed a few years ago) and gave me a little something to think about on this Thursday!
Keep that chin up lady!

So sorry to hear your sad news, Lissy. Take however much time you need. We'll be here. No worries. I do like your shirt and bought one a few weeks ago at from Marshalls that reminded me of the J. Crew version. Thought about showcasing it next week with some pinstripe blue pants. :-) Thoughts are with you.

I love you. Great post. Xxo
So sorry to hear about your loss! My thoughts are with you and your family... keep doing what makes you smile!
I am so sorry for your loss. Everyone finds happiness in different places. We only have one life and it is all ours. We need to do what makes us happy. There are no promises in life and I think knowing someone experienced happiness helps make us deal with their loss a bit easier.
So very sorry for your loss...
Love, love, love your blog.
